Basic Lessons for "DADGAD" Guitar Tuning / How to Press Chords on DADGAD
This second time is teaching you [A] chord which is one of the basic chords on DADGAD as well as D chord.
With D and G we learned so far, you can accompany a lot of Irish song on DADGAD well.
- [A] chord on DADGAD
- [Am] chord on DADGAD
- [A7] chord on DADGAD
- [Am7] chord on DADGAD
- [AM7] chord on DADGAD
[A] chord on DADGAD
Press down at 2 fret on 1~4th string with laying forefinger down, and also press down at 4th fret on 2nd string with little finger.
If you are weak in "barre", just press down 2~4th string with ball of your forefinger.
At that case, be aware of muting 1st string.
[Am] chord on DADGAD
From A chord, move your finger from 4th fret on 2nd string to 3rd fret, and it becomes Minor chord.
[A7] chord on DADGAD
When you press down 7th chord, press down at 2 fret on 1st and 4th string separately, and let 3rd string open.
[Am7] chord on DADGAD
From A7 chord, move your finger from 4th fret on 2nd string to 3rd fret, and it becomes Minor 7th chord.
[AM7] chord on DADGAD
For pressing down Major 7th chord, press down at 7th fret on 6th string which is "root" of A, and press down like a form of Am chord.
If it is difficult to do "barre", just press down 2~4th string with ball of your forefinger.
At that case, be aware of muting 1st string.
However, in case of AM7 chord, you can take advantage of 5th string witch has sound of "A".
It means you can stroke from 5th string instead of 7th fret on 6th string as root.
D,G and A chord are frequently used on DADGAD.
