Basic Lessons for "DADGAD" Guitar Tuning / How to Press Chords on DADGAD
This first time is teaching you how to press down [D] chord which is one of the basic chords on DADGAD.
- [D] chord on DADGAD
- [Dm] chord on DADGAD
- [D7] chord on DADGAD
- [Dm7] chord on DADGAD
- [DM7] chord on DADGAD
[D] chord on DADGAD
D chord is frequently used whenever you play on DADGAD tuning.
If you want to produce the sound of D chord like a Standard tuning, you should press on 1st and 2nd string.
However, in my opinion, I recommend you to use Simplified form as follows.
[D] chord on DADGAD (Simplified form)
This form can produce the sound which is MORE LIKE DADGAD due to its 1st and 2nd unpressed string.
And you can easily apply this simplified form to the other pattern of D chord such as Minor or 7th.
D chord that I mention below here means this simplified form.
[Dm] chord on DADGAD
From D chord, move your finger from 4th fret on 4th string to 3rd fret, and it becomes Minor chord.
[D7] chord on DADGAD
Based on D chord, add presing down at 3rd fret on 2nd string, and it becomes 7th chord.
[Dm7] chord on DADGAD
From D7 chord, move your finger from 4th fret on 4th string to 3rd fret, and it becomes Minor 7th chord.
[DM7] chord on DADGAD
Based on D chord, add presing down at 4th fret on 2nd string, and it becomes Major 7th chord.
