Basic Lessons for "DADGAD" Guitar Tuning / How to Press Chords on DADGAD
This fourth time is teaching you how to press down [C] chord.
C chord is similar to C chord on standard tuning.
However, you should be aware of confusion because it sounds very different from standard tuning's one even though it is the same form.
- [C] chord on DADGAD
- [Cm] chord on DADGAD
- [C7] chord on DADGAD
- [Cm7] chord on DADGAD
- [CM7] chord on DADGAD
[C] chord on DADGAD
You can make C chord very blight if you do pressing down on 1st string as well.
However, it is difficult to stretch the fingers when it becomes Minor or 7th chord which is based on this form.
Therefore, you should learn simplified form below here too.
[C] chord on DADGAD (Simplified form)
This simplified form which is omitted to press down on 1st string can press C chord as same as the way to press C9th chord on standard tuning.
However, you need to mute the 1st string in this case.
[Cm] chord on DADGAD
From Simplified C chord, move your finger from 2nd fret on 4th string to 1st fret, and it becomes Minor chord.
Needed to mute 1st string.
[C7] chord on DADGAD
It becomes 7th chord if you press down the same form with C chord on standard tuning.
Needed to mute 1st string.
[Cm7] chord on DADGAD
Minor 7th chord for C is quite difficult to stretch the fingers if you press down it as low chord.
If it is hard to do, let's change your finger on 5th string third finger to little finger.
Needed to mute 1st string.
[CM7] chord on DADGAD
From C7 chord, move your finger from 1st fret on 2nd string to 2nd fret on 1st and 2nd string with laying forefinger down.
Therefore, it becomes Major 7th chord.
