Basic Lessons for "DADGAD" Guitar Tuning / How to Press Chords on DADGAD
This seventh time is teaching you how to press down [B] chord witch is the most difficult chord on DADGAD.
However, the form is quite simple.
Let's practice and master the final basic chord on DADGAD!
- [B] chord on DADGAD
- [Bm] chord on DADGAD
- [B7] chord on DADGAD
- [Bm7] chord on DADGAD
- [BM7] chord on DADGAD
[B] chord on DADGAD
For pressing down B chord, press down at 2nd fret on 5th string which is "root" of B with forefinger, and press down on 2-4th string with rest of the fingers.
It looks like the form that is added little finger to power chord.
However, it is very hard to stretch between forefinger to little finger.
In the same way of B chord on standard tuning, you can make use of this form and simplified form to any other chords which has its root on 5th string with moving on the fret.
[Bm] chord on DADGAD
From B chord, move your finger from 6th fret on 2nd string to 5th fret, and it becomes Minor chord.
It is more easy to stretch the fingers than B.
[B7] chord on DADGAD
From B chord, release the third finger from 4th fret on 3rd string, and press down 2nd fret with laying forefinger down.
Therefore, it becomes 7th chord.
In addition, you can use simplified chord when it is difficult to press original one for some reason.
[B7] chord on DADGAD (Simplified form)
You can apply this 7th form to not only B chord but every chord that has its root on 5th string.
[Bm7] chord on DADGAD
From B7 chord, move your finger from 6th fret on 2nd string to 5th fret, and it becomes Minor 7th chord.
[BM7] chord on DADGAD
For pressing down Major 7th chord, press down at 2nd fret on 5th string which is "root" of B with forefinger, and press down on 2-4th string with rest of the fingers.
For doing this form comfortably, press down on 3-5th string at first, and press down at 6th fret on 2nd string with little finger after that.
In the same way of F chord, B chord is very important chord which is applied to any kinds of chord with moving on the fret.
